We Welcome Michele Sofisti as our new Head of Global Partnerships

We are pleased to announce Michele Sofisti as our new Head of Global Partnerships. Through his collaboration with corporate leaders, donors, and agencies Michele will help RESOLVE create unique sustainability opportunities for partners aligned with three current priorities:

  • Constructive responses to threats to species, biodiversity, and climate health;
  • Bolstering community and technological resilience to pandemics and other disasters; and
  • Pushing for and supporting a global effort to restore habitat, while simultaneously producing the material and infrastructure needed to support an energy transition.

Michele joined our Board of Advisors last year and has been leading the development of our work into Europe. Over the past year he has invested time in passionate networking with global brands, conservation groups, health companies, communications experts, and others to create the partnerships essential to addressing our planetary and health emergencies.

Michele has extensive experience working in the watch and jewelry industry and has also worked in the automobile, entertainment, fashion, food, and outdoor industries. An Italian born Swiss citizen and resident, Michele started his professional career as geologist before joining Ferrari as the CEO of the German Subsidiary in Wiesbaden. He later moved to Switzerland to join the watch and microelectronics Group SMH (known today as Swatch Group), becoming President /CEO of Omega first and then of Swatch. As a member of the SMH Group Board he was in charge of development in Greater China for all SMH brands. Between his work with Omega and Swatch, he spent a year in LVMH Group, in Paris, as CEO of Dior watches and Fred Jewellery. He has worked with Gucci watches/jewellery and Girard Perregaux watches (both belonging to the French Group Kering).

Michele is no stranger to building partnerships – he built on the partnership between Omega and NASA and the SWATCH partnership with the Olympics. Michele previously served as a member of the Council of Advisors at National Geographic Society and is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors at The Global Conservation Corps.

We are excited to welcome Michele into this new role as Head of Global Partnerships. He will focus first on our efforts to advance three new global partnership campaigns:

  • Deploying TrailGuard™ anti-poaching systems in parks globally to support action on the Convention on Biological Diversity;
  • Expanding sponsored restoration projects like Salmon Gold™ to support the Global Safety Net; and
  • Developing and deploying clean, locally sourced power and internet connectivity for off-grid community health facilities as a power source for vaccine distribution, water purification, and broader healthcare services.

Please reach out to Michele if you are interested in partnering with us to help advance these efforts or if you would like our support to develop targeted, bespoke solutions to sustainability challenges.
