Climate change is one of the most urgent and complex problems facing society. While the transition to a low-carbon economy is underway, it needs to accelerate. New policy pathways are needed, and a broader, more aggressive portfolio of decarbonization, adaptation, and response options must be explored and pursued.
RESOLVE’s Climate Policy Lab supports innovation in policy, voluntary initiatives, and supporting tools to help slow and then reverse the impacts of climate change.
We target barriers to progress, particularly in areas that have lacked attention. We work with advocates, corporate leaders, funders, and policy makers to identify key areas where progress is possible, especially on challenging issues where potential solutions are blocked by information and policy gaps, ideological and political disputes, vested interests, stagnant positions, lack of funding, or polarization.
Currently, we’re working on a number of innovations together with the Institute for Carbon Removal Law and Policy and leading conservation groups on carbon removal policy and strategy. We’re also engaged in a joint fact-finding mission on the role of nuclear power in a low-carbon economy and an effort to develop tools to bolster climate provisions for voluntary sourcing and investor standards.
