Our Ethical Resource program promotes responsible sourcing and production of minerals, food, energy, and other natural resources to help companies, civil society, and governments make progress towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals while benefitting local communities where development and production occurs. We seek progressive improvement on environmental practices, rights compliance, and social benefits across supply chains from source to product.
We encourage and support the collaborative design, testing, and scaling of solutions, with an eye to self-sustaining approaches, including through multi-sector partnerships that mobilize joint resources and expertise. RESOLVE also supports efforts to build climate-smart supply chains.
The Code of Risk-mitigation for Artisanal and small-scale mining engaging in Formal Trade (CRAFT) supports improved environmental and social performance in the artisanal mining sector. CRAFT fills a gap both by helping artisanal producers meet basic international supply chain expectations and by giving companies a tool to engage with and support the artisanal sector while responsibly managing human rights and other key risks.
The Public-Private Alliance for Responsible Minerals Trade (PPA) is a multi-sector initiative to support supply chain solutions to conflict minerals challenges in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Great Lakes Region of Central Africa and to engage directly with regional systems, leaders, and stakeholders.
Salmon Gold™ brings together communities, gold miners, conservationists, and government agencies in Alaska and the Yukon Territory to use market incentives to promote clean mining techniques to remine tailings and restore globally significant salmon habitat.
Bolstering progress on responsible sourcing in Africa through direct funding of projects to promote the development of tools and build civil society capacity.
Creating new standards to improve artisanal miners’ access to legal supply chains and better trading conditions.
Engaging stakeholders to address barriers to the production of legal artisanal gold in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A partnership that produces gold while restoring habitat for salmon and other species.
