At RESOLVE, we are proud to celebrate two members of the PR3 team whose contributions to standards development were recently honored by leading professional organizations in their field.

Mason Hines and Hannah Alday both play integral roles on the PR3 | The Global Alliance to Advance Reuse team, helping build the collaborative processes and stakeholder relationships that drive systems change. Their recognitions come at a milestone moment for PR3, which recently unveiled the world's first global symbol for reuse, a visual identity designed to help consumers identify reusable products and participate more easily in reuse systems. The symbol represents years of collaboration among industry leaders, technical experts practitioners, and advocates committed to advancing a more circular economy, and both Mason and Hannah contributed to the processes that made it possible.

Shaping the Future of Standards Development

Mason Hines received the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Next Generation Award in recognition of his vision, leadership, dedication, and significant contributions to the field of standardization.

As Senior Program Manager at RESOLVE for nearly a decade, Mason has led complex, multi-stakeholder processes that bring together industry, government, civil society, and technical experts to develop credible, durable standards. The award recognizes emerging leaders who are helping shape the future of standards development, and colleagues were quick to highlight what makes Mason's approach distinctive.

One nominator noted that Mason's "steadiness and commitment to building shared understanding" have helped create the foundation for effective standards work, while others praised his ability to balance technical rigor with a thoughtful, people-centered approach. His leadership has helped build trust across difficult conversations, ensuring that a wide range of perspectives are heard while advancing practical outcomes that stakeholders can stand behind.

Amy Larkin, Co-Founder and Director of PR3, reflected on Mason’s contributions an growth within the organization:

“Mason Hines joined PR3 co-founder Claudette Juska and myself seven years ago, at the very start of our journey. Mason was a quick study, dealt with two completely different founder styles like the mediator he's trained to be, and ensured that we kept the trains running as we embarked on our audacious project. He's blossomed into a leader, bringing the values of a new generation to the staid previously all-industry standards world. As standards provide the blueprint for business, this work is generationally important. Bravo Mason.”
An Emerging Leader in the Standards Community

Hannah Alday received the 2026 Society for Standards Professionals (SES) Emerging Professional Award, which recognizes rising professionals who are advancing the field of standardization through innovation, dedication, and professional excellence.

As Program Manager for PR3, Hannah has supported standards development, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative initiatives that bring together organizations working to scale reuse systems. Her contributions have helped strengthen partnerships across the reuse ecosystem while supporting the development of practical, consensus-based solutions.

The award reflects Hannah's growing leadership within the standards community and her commitment to advancing the profession. Her work demonstrates the importance of thoughtful coordination, collaboration, and relationship-building in helping diverse stakeholders work toward shared goals.

Although she was unable to attend the awards ceremony in Ottawa, Hannah's accomplishments were recognized through remarks delivered by Mason, who spoke to her talent, professionalism, and remarkable aptitude for standards development, affectionately dubbing her the "Wunderkind" of the standards world.

Larkin also highlighted Hannah’s ability to move complex work forward with clarity, diligence, and care:

“Hannah Alday joined PR3 nearly 3 years ago and seemed to organically understand what was needed to move every kind of activity forward. Hannah has a mind like a steel trap, a delightful heart and sense of humor, diligence and rigor on all fronts, and regularly asks important questions that help clarify our direction. We are incredibly lucky to have someone as talented as Hannah on the PR3
team.”
Advancing Reuse Through Collaboration

The recognitions received by Mason and Hannah reflect the range of skills, from technical expertise and stakeholder engagement to trust-building and process leadership, that are required to advance meaningful standards and lasting systems change.

Their achievements also reflect the collaborative spirit that underpins PR3's work, from developing consensus-based standards to advancing initiatives such as the global reuse symbol. Together, these efforts help strengthen the partnerships, processes, and shared understanding needed to accelerate the transition toward a more circular economy.

We congratulate Mason and Hannah on these well-deserved achievements and thank them for their continued contributions to PR3, the standards community, and the growing movement to build a future with less waste and lower emissions.
