We turn high-impact and investable ideas into self-sustaining enterprises and projects to help unlock long-term solutions for people and the earth.

We envision a world where purpose-driven, catalytic investments are deployed and flow efficiently to mission-aligned, social and environmental start-ups and projects.
We shepherd emerging enterprises in the environmental and social sectors to obtain right-sized funding and financing so that they thrive.
The Problem
Every year, promising solutions — for legacy mine waste, habitat destruction, plastic and nutrient pollution, and wildfire mitigation — spark hope, then stall. They're born from philanthropy, but philanthropy runs on short grant cycles and shifting strategic plans. Somewhere between the first pilot and the point of self-sufficiency, good ideas lose momentum, not because they stopped working, but because the funding model underneath them was never built to carry them the whole way.
The result: good ideas become stranded assets — projects and organizations with real solutions, stuck without a runway.
This isn't a failure of the people doing the work. Civil society organizations and foundations bring deep programmatic expertise, strong partnerships, and a clear commitment to social and environmental impact. However, many were established to fund or deliver mission-driven programs, rather than to generate financial returns from their ideas. Their staff and boards may not have dedicated capacity or experience in social investing and the enterprise strategies needed to transition a venture from grant support to commercial financing. This is not a reflection of their effectiveness; it simply reflects the mandates and structures these institutions were built around.
Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs and project developers closest to these solutions are stuck straddling a gap: too commercial for pure philanthropy, too early or too mission-bound for pure commercial finance. What they need isn't simply more money; it's the right kind of money, at the right time, from partners fluent in both a balance sheet and a mission statement.
How RESOLVE Enterprises Works
RESOLVE Enterprises is focused on helping emerging enterprises that solve social and environmental problems become self-sustaining ventures built to last on their own revenue.
We do this by deploying capital that stimulates innovation and is structured around long-term outcomes, not grant-cycle timelines: mission-related investments, concessionary impact capital, recoverable grants, blended finance, public-private partnerships, and other forms of purpose-driven financing.
Just as important as the capital is who holds the leverage. Grant dependency puts project leaders at the mercy of decision-makers far from the communities and realities they're working in. Our model is built to shift that balance, giving the entrepreneurs and organizations closest to the problem more control over their own trajectory, while giving foundations a way to sustain their impact beyond a single grant cycle and move on to fund the next hard problem.
Nightjar, Regeneration, and the Catalytic Fund for Nature are our first three proof points. They're not case studies of what this could look like; they're already running.
Why RESOLVE + Earth Recovery Partners
RESOLVE Enterprises is a joint venture between RESOLVE and Earth Recovery Partners (ERP) — pairing a nonprofit mission with disciplined, for-profit investment expertise.
RESOLVE has spent decades working across sectors, challenges, and constituencies, stepping into the middle of divisive issues where progress is stuck. We're one of the few NGOs with a demonstrated track record of building enterprises, not just funding projects — Nightjar and Regeneration prove it. We're now building the dedicated capacity to do this at scale, rather than on a case-by-case basis.
Earth Recovery Partners was founded by entrepreneurs with over 60 years of combined experience mobilizing capital and expertise for environmental solutions with multiple successful exits. ERP already serves as a hub for capital in the environmental and nature-based solutions markets, assisting impact companies to scale their businesses.
Together, we bring a leadership team with hands-on experience building and managing enterprises from both the nonprofit and investment sides, achieving outcomes neither organization could reach alone.
