The Nature Positive goal, embedded in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, calls for halting and reversing nature loss by 2030 and supporting recovery by 2050. Companies across sectors are increasingly making commitments to contribute to the Nature Positive goal, driven by emerging regulatory requirements, investor expectations, and the growing recognition that responsible business practices must address biodiversity loss. The challenge is turning these commitments into real, measurable outcomes that benefit both nature and people.

Through the Nature Lift initiative, RESOLVE partners with a selective group of companies to advance their Nature Positive commitments and demonstrate sector leadership. We combine applied science, on-the-ground partnerships, and program delivery experience to identify where corporate action can deliver the greatest biodiversity gains, and help turn those opportunitiesinto effective, measurable results. RESOLVE helps companies

1. Build Pathways to Net Biodiversity Gain at Site Level: We conduct biodiversity assessments and deliver strategic recommendations to help sites achieve net biodiversity gain. We prepare clear, costed pathways and curate portfolios of high-quality local conservation initiatives for investment.

2. Protect High-Value Conservation Lands: We guide contributions to 30x30 and national biodiversity strategies (NBSAPs) using RESOLVE’s Conservation Imperatives science that identifies the 1.2% of land most critical for preventing extinctions. Leveraging our extensive experience and network in supporting protected area creation and management, we help partners target the highest-value unprotected places where action delivers globally significant outcomes.

3. Create Partnerships and Build Consensus: We work with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure that Nature Positive interventions are grounded in local priorities, socially supported, and durable. We help companies build trusted partnerships and align efforts across landscapes. RESOLVE is working with leading companies to pilot Nature Positive approaches and is convening industry, NGOs, and foundations to establish best practices for implementing Nature Positive strategies in the mining sector.
